Unit 3- Summary
The focus of this unit is the ecological, historical and social contexts of relationships between humans and outdoor environments in Australia.
Case studies of a range of impacts on outdoor environments are examined in the context of the changing nature of human relationships with outdoor environments in Australia. You will be required to consider a number of factors that influence relationships with outdoor environments.
This will also include examining the dynamic nature of relationships between humans and their environment.
The practical experiences you are provided with in outdoor environments make use of areas where there is evidence of a wide range of human interaction. It is intended that these practical experiences help you to be able to make comparisons between and reflect upon outdoor environments, as well as to develop theoretical knowledge and skills about specific natural environments.
Unit 3 contains two areas of study and two assessment Outcomes:
AOS 1: Historical relationships with outdoor environments
AOS 2: Relationships with outdoor environments since 1990
