Now we have looked at the emotive side of motivations and responses and some of the factors that can influence them, we can now look at a variety of ways that both indigenous and non-indigenous people experience and understand outdoor environments.
Some of the ways in which people experience and respond to outdoor environments can be:
- custodianship
- as recreation (both passive and active/adventure)
- as a resource
- through a spiritual connection
- as a study site
