4.2.4- Management strategies for healthy outdoor environments
This section addresses some of the ways, or strategies, that we are able to use to look after outdoor environments, now and into the future.
Strategies- usually rely on the allocation and deployment of physical human resources to manage interactions with the environment.
Think:
Policies- refer to statements regarding the positions that political parties take concerning the management of areas of the environment- they act as a guide for anyone involved in land management. Policies can also refer to formal environmental management plans, like those that exist for every one of our major public land reserves. Strategies and polices are not only used to maintain healthy outdoor environments, but also to return and restore them to a healthy state. It is important to recognise that a variety of strategies and policies exist and that these need to be considered in relation to both private and public land.
The job of a ranger:
When we think of someone who impliments management strategies on public land- park rangers probably come to mind. But what do they do....? |
