When conflict occurs about the use of an outdoor environment, a decision has to be made to resolve it. The conflicts we have looked at all involve the use of Crown land. These decisions are the responsibility of the organisation or authority in charge of the management of that land.
Often, when conflict occurs, a process needs to be used so that a resolution can be reached. In a perfect world, interest groups would be able to reach a compromise in order to resolve the conflict. Often this isn't the case and another process may be required. These include:
